Looking up

'Just look up, we are both under the same starry sky.'
This is my favourite sentence. It reminds me of the people that I missed so much, no matter they are alive or dead.
According to the fairy tale 'The little girl selling matches', when a person on earth dies, you'll see a star running through the sky and falling down.
I went to the top floor and watched the stars for a while just now. The breeze kept talking to me in a most comfortable way, sending me some mysterious but pleasant messages from somewhere beyond my wildest imagination.
To my surprize, the stars seemed to be moving slowly all the time. When I tried to stare at them carefully, the dazzling light from the stadium nearby made it difficult. 'Alright', I thought. Anyway, imagining is the most enjoyable thing during star-watching.
So I started thinking. Thinking of the aliens out there in the universe. Thinking of the future of the human beings. What will the aliens see millons of years later? A desolate hell? A burning land? Or a crowded planet with intelectual people all around? However the situation will be, I appreciate what I have now whole-heartedly and pray for our incredibly wonderful homeland, this small but magnificent planet where so many miracles have happened.
It seemed that I could feel the awe, the splendour and hope that Judie Foster mentioned in 'Contact'. The universe is SO large, and everyone of us is so small and insignificant. Why should we be so stupid as to quarrel and fight for something which never belongs to us?
It says in 'We belong to the sea' that 'as soon as it stops, we'll all be a drop'. Similarly, the moment the world comes to an end, we'll all turn into dust that floats in the vast universe. Everybody is exactly the same then. That's a good thing.
Life is short and precious, so be happy and use it well. To love somebody, to love yourself, and to love the world sincerely.
